Procrastination and Loss

In life, we all have things we’ve lost or think we’ve lost. But did we really lose them, or did we just postpone them? In fact, most of what we believe we’ve lost in life are things we’ve postponed. Delaying our emotions and thoughts, sending them to dusty shelves, and later forgetting about them might have led to our loss. Many things we’ve postponed and forgotten over the course of our lives later turn into things we’ve lost. In other words, what we’ve lost has often been nothing more than what we’ve postponed. Instead of giving ourselves a chance, we’ve been so busy stepping on our own opportunities that we didn’t even realize how valuable they were until they were gone. So, isn’t it time we took a moment to reflect? Wouldn’t it be better to prioritize things and think before we lose them, instead of saying “I wish” later and saying “I’m glad” instead? In fact, making room on clean pages instead of dusty shelves will be enough to avoid loss. Creating this mindset in every area of life will help us be happier, even if just a little. We could think of it like this: as the saying goes, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today” – meaning, don’t postpone. When you postpone, loss will occur. Just like postponing tasks and forgetting about procedures at work leads to losing your job, it will happen in life too. Therefore, let’s bring things forward and understand their value before we lose them. That way, we can enjoy life more.
